Meetings for Worship this Sunday, February 7; 9:00 am unprogrammed; 11:00 am – Deborah’s message is “Jesus and Church” - looking at some of the questions raised in Phil Gulley’s new book, If the Church were Christian. Dean Griffiths (Australian Anglican priest currently serving in Malaysia and friend of Tim & Deborah’s) will be on the facing bench.

So that you can still participate in Sunday School - there will be two training sessions on February 7 at 9:00 and 10:00 am. Please gather in the front rows of meetingroom.  This is for all Sunday Morning Hosts (formerly known as Ushers/Greeters). Please contact Jean Christy if you are unable to attend either session.

March Sunday School Series

MARCH SUNDAY SCHOOL SERIES

For the month of March, Peace & Social Concerns Committee is sponsoring a study of the new book by NCYM member Jack Ciancio, Where Christ Presides - A Quaker Perspective on Moral Discernment. The book is being studied in various NCYM monthly meetings and at Mid-Year Gathering.

Help Haiti

First Friends is one of the lead congregations for the Quarters for Compassion - Stop Hunger Now Event.   On Sunday, March 7,  3-5 pm 150 adults and children from various faith traditions will gather at Beth David Synagogue to assemble 20,000 nutritional meals that will be distributed in Haiti and possibly other needy areas.

ABSOLUTE DEADLINE – Members and attenders - If you did not have a picture taken by Gordon Shepherd or you have not given us one and you want to be included in the pictorial directory you have until FEBRUARY 14 to email or deliver a picture to the office (office@firstfriendsmeeting.org). If the office is not open, a picture in an envelope can be put through the mail slot.

Sunday January 31
